Nestled on a private one-hectare lake at La Ferme du Duzou near Conques, Ma Cabane en Aveyron offers two unforgettable, offbeat overnight experiences. Opened in spring 2018, our two cabanes combine rustic charm and thoughtful comfort: Libellule is a floating cabin accessible by pontoon, rowboat, or pedal boat, while Hirondelle is a treetop cabin perched on stilts more than ten metres above the water. Each cabin delivers privacy and peacefulness in a forested, wildlife-rich setting where guests can listen to birdsong and frogs, and use provided binoculars to observe the surrounding flora and fauna.
Comfort and practical details are central to the stay. Cabins include dry toilets on the terrace; Libellule benefits from a sheltered hot-water shower at the lake edge, and Hirondelle has a shower on its terrace. Bedding is seasonal and comfortable with duvets or blankets, pillows, fitted sheets, and pillowcases. We provide a guest backpack with a water bottle, LED lamp, solar charger, and binoculars. A water reserve is available on site. Shared amenities at the farm include a seasonal outdoor pool, sports equipment and areas (mini-foot, basketball hoop, pétanque, ping-pong), a meeting room with games and a library, and children’s play areas.
Guests can practice no-kill fishing (bring your own gear) and enjoy boat or pedal-boat outings. Optional extras include a two-person hot-tub session and a delivered hot evening meal prepared by the farm (please order 48 hours in advance). A generous breakfast is included in the base price and is delivered to the cabin: hot drinks, fruit juice, bread, butter, jam, a pastry, and more.
Located just 8 km from the UNESCO-recognized village of Conques, the site is ideal for exploring local attractions such as Marcillac vineyards, the ostrich farm, Rodez, and the Soulages Museum. Arrival is between 16:00 and 19:00 with departures before 11:00. Pets are not accepted. Reservations close at midnight for same-day bookings.
