Nestled in the heart of the Dordogne Valley on the Itinérêve route, Hêtre Sous Le Charme welcomes guests to 18 hectares of preserved forest with breathtaking views over the Dordogne gorges. Located a short distance from Argentat and the Roc Castel viewpoint, our site offers a unique balance between peaceful natural immersion and easy access to local attractions. We are Caroline and Clément, hosts who fell in love with this land and its five original cabins. Since taking over in 2019, we have continued the tradition of warm hospitality, homemade breakfasts, and thoughtfully prepared meal options to make every stay memorable.
Our six cabins sit high in the trees with unobstructed views of the river gorges, making them perfect for relaxation and reconnection with nature. Each cabin is powered by solar panels to supply evening lighting; there is intentionally no mains electricity to preserve the quiet, low-impact character of the site. Guests are welcomed at fixed times starting at 16:00, with scheduled reception hours at 17:00, 18:00, and 19:00 at the Bourg of Saint-Martial-Entraygues, where we provide local advice and accompany visitors to the cabins. Checkout is at 11:00 the following day. Reservations close at midnight for same-day bookings. Pets are welcome.
Dining on site focuses on local produce and homemade touches. Breakfast is included with each night and features bread with house jam, organic yogurts from a local producer, homemade treats, and hot and cold beverages. For an elevated experience, order our Gourmet Terroir menu, a warm two-person meal delivered to your cabin with an aperitif and bottle of wine. In summer months, the Menu Plaisir Estival is available as a lighter, seasonal option. For special moments, the Romantic Pack adds silk rose petals, a half-bottle of wine, and candles upon arrival.
